How it all started?

“A New Thing Springing Forth” – Isaiah 43:18–19

On November 18, 2024, a divine moment of alignment birthed what is now known as the New Promise Fellowship of Churches. This spiritual fellowship was not born of human ambition, but by divine orchestration. The Lord sovereignly joined the hearts and ministries of Bishop Calvin D. Sparks, Bishop Ursell Brandon, and Bishop-Elect Vershall Harkness, revealing to them that their ministerial union was appointed “for such a time as this” (Esther 4:14).

In a sacred time of fellowship, Bishop Sparks shared a vision the Lord had imparted to him. As he spoke, Bishop Brandon was stirred in his spirit, recalling that the Lord had previously given him the same vision—a witness in the Spirit confirming the voice of God. Similarly, in prior discourse with Bishop-Elect Harkness, Bishop Brandon had discerned a prophetic urgency. It was then that Bishop-Elect Harkness sensed the Spirit declaring that a new reformation was imminent.

In obedience to this divine prompting, Bishop Brandon and Bishop-Elect Harkness were led to pray over Bishop Sparks, appointing him as Chief Apostle of New Promise Fellowship of Churches. Under the leading of the Holy Spirit, Chief Apostle Calvin D. Sparks affirmed the leadership structure by appointing Bishop Ursell Brandon as Second Presiding Bishop and Bishop-Elect Vershall Harkness as Third Presiding Bishop and General Secretary of the New Promise Fellowship of Churches.

In response to these divine assignments, the three bowed in reverent surrender, entering into worship and exuberant praise, acknowledging the Lord for what He had established in their midst. They recognized that this was not merely organizational—it was spiritual. The fingerprints of God were all over it.

The founding Scripture, revealed by the Holy Spirit to Chief Apostle Sparks, was Isaiah 43:18–19:

“Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?
I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”

Thus, the name was set: New Promise Fellowship of Churches, symbolizing both the renewal of God’s covenant with His people and the unfolding of divine purpose for a new generation of church leadership.

Soon after, the Mission and Vision were prayerfully articulated:

🕊️ Mission

To encourage the Body of Christ to walk in full submission to the Word of God, with unwavering expectation of His promises being fulfilled.

🔭 Vision

To support, empower, and establish leaders, enabling them to see and reach their full potential in God.

The word the Lord released on that sacred night was weighty, prophetic, and profound. It was evident that the movement was not man-initiated but God-ordained. The Spirit of the Lord was not merely confirming their unity, but propelling them forward into divine purpose with the blessed assurance of His promises.

“Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will do it.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:24
